We strive to support our communities, reduce our impact on the environment and create a safe & diverse workplace.
Our ambition is to reduce our environmental footprint on a global scale. We’re saving energy by constantly driving efficiencies in our operations and an ever-increasing switch to renewable energy sources. Our aim is to reach 100% renewable electricity by 2040, if not sooner, with an interim target of at least 60% by 2030. We are also working to significantly reduce our environmental impact of water usage and packaging through initiatives that focus on reducing, reusing, and recycling, throughout our operations and offices around the world.
Safilo is a global player in the eyewear industry that, for over 90 years, has been creating, producing, and distributing sunglasses, prescription frames, outdoor eyewear, goggles and helmets. Thanks to a data driven approach, Safilo goes beyond the traditional boundaries of the eyewear industry: in just one company it brings together Italian design, stylistic, technical and industrial innovation, and state-of-the-art digital platforms, developed in its «digital hubs» in Padua and Portland, and made available to Opticians and Clients for an unmatched customer experience. Our commitment is to make a positive difference and to change the way we operate so that we are net-zero carbon by 2050 at the latest. We have some bold targets and, powered by the energy and inspiration of our 40,000 colleagues worldwide, our supply chain partners, and our 41m customers, we’re focused on achieving them.
